I did another "baroque" piece. I wasn't sure I wanted to keep it, but look at these amazing landscapes under the magnifier!
(I may or may not have put the plate in the freezer before wet processing 😏)
The grass will have another print for sure, it has great movement.

Probably one of my favourite pieces, this cyanotype on glass has a silver back that gives a feeling of depth to the photo.
In autumn 2020, some poplars were cut nearby. The ground was covered with shredded wood, like a soft carpet with this gorgeous pattern.
I printed the photo I took with cyanotype on a 13x18cm glass plate and added another glass plate with silver paint in the back. The blue got darker while the lighter parts reflected the light, giving this depth. Not sure it translates on my videos but it really does when you hold the plate in your hands.

Second test with acetate paper. I used basic overhead projector paper, for inkjet printers so it's already coated and can absorb the cyanotype solution.
There are many upsides:
* transparency, even if the paper itself is a little bit milky
* you get all the tiny details, since there's almost no texture to this sheet
* the colour is vibrant
* it's flexible
The downside might be its fragility: even before I twisted it I could see some cracks, and I'm really not sure it would last long.

But the goal here is to mimic the glass cyanotype, and it does a pretty good job. I'll use that for a school project next year so it had to be simple and effective ✔️✔️✔️

Test !
For an upcoming project with young people I had to find ways to make cyanotype on glass in a safe way. But glass is tricky in a limited time, so I explored other ways. The easiest is definitely using acetate sheets. And what a beautiful result! I'm very pleased and I'm sure the kids will like it too!
